Alphabet Blanket by Jessica Chia

Designed by the talented and stylish Jessica Chia, one of our Thursday Knitting Club knitters, this simply stunning blanket uses a mix of alphabet and windmill squares.  Knitted in strips, the blanket does not require much sewing when it is finally put together.

 

Size:

·            Finished blanket – 137cm X 125cm

·            Individual squares – 19cm X14cm

·            Border – 5.5cm width

·            Squares –  42 stitches by 42 rows

·            Border –  24 rows

 

Tension: 10cm² = 22 stitches x 28 rows using 4mm needles and Adorn Silky Merino DK:

 

Colours used:

·            146 (A) X 3 balls

·            145 (B) X 3 balls

·            127 (C) X 3 balls

·            112 (D) X 3 balls

·            130 (E) X 3 balls

·            117 (F) X 3 balls

·            126 (G) X 5 balls

                     

Needles:

·            Pair of 4mm needles (for the squares)

·            4mm circular needles (for the border)
